Job Vacancy: Sales Executive

Location:
A mixed role involving field-based activity across the territory, regular visibility at the designated sales office (Premier Forest – West Wales), and occasional home working by agreement with the line manager.

Territory Coverage:
West & Southwest Wales, covering Carmarthenshire, Swansea, Ceredigion (Cardigan/Lampeter) and Pembrokeshire, with flexibility to travel as required.

Role Overview:
We are looking for a proactive and commercially driven Sales Executive to manage and grow sales across the West & Southwest Wales territory. This role combines field-based customer engagement with regular time spent at the West Wales sales office, supporting strong collaboration and visibility within the wider team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business opportunities while maintaining and expanding existing customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
• Identify, target and win new customers, including builders, contractors, developers and other construction-related stakeholders.
• Maintain and grow an existing customer base, with a strong focus on cross-selling and up-selling to maximise revenue and profitability.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular face-to-face visits, telephone calls and email communication.
• Promote Premier Forest Products’ range of timber products, delivering product presentations where appropriate.
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries regarding pricing, availability and delivery schedules.
• Work closely with the wider Sales Team and Management to agree pricing strategies and support contract negotiations.
• Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify opportunities and risks within the territory.
• Provide accurate and timely sales reports, forecasts and customer activity updates.
• Attend trade shows, networking events and customer meetings as required.
• Liaise with internal teams (including operations and logistics) to ensure smooth order processing and high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Maintain strong product knowledge and stay up to date with industry developments and best practice.

About you…
• Proven experience in a sales role, ideally within timber, construction materials or a related sector.
• Strong sales and negotiation skills with a track record of delivering results.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Organised, self-motivated and comfortable working across field, office and home-based environments.
• Confident using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the territory.
• Welsh language skills would be an advantage but are not essential.
