Job Vacancies: Hardwood & Specialist Products Sales Representative
Premier Forest Products is one of the UK’s leading timber importers, processors and distributors. With over 20 sites nationwide and a workforce of 600+ employees, we have experienced significant growth in recent years through acquisitions and continued business expansion.
We are looking for an experienced and driven Hardwood & Specialist Product Sales Representative to join our team at Premier Forest Products Head Office in Newport, Wales. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated sales professional with extensive knowledge of hardwoods and Accoya Wood to play a key role in driving growth across the business.
Working closely with senior management and the internal sales teams across the group, you will focus on developing both existing customer relationships and winning new business, with a strong emphasis on specialist product expertise and strategic account development.
What you’ll do:
- Proactively generate new business opportunities, with a focus on hardwood and specialist timber products.
- Develop and grow relationships with existing customers, providing expert guidance on product selection and applications.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales of hardwood and Accoya Wood across the wider branch network.
- Promote and sell a range of specialist timber products, leveraging your technical knowledge to add value.
- Work towards and achieve agreed sales targets and KPIs.
- Collaborate with internal sales teams across multiple sites to maximise sales performance.
- Support senior management in driving overall business growth in specialist product categories.
- Manage and develop key customer accounts effectively.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in a sales role within the timber or construction industry.
- Strong track record of winning new business and growing accounts.
- Extensive knowledge of hardwoods, their applications, and grading.
- Strong understanding and experience selling Accoya Wood and other specialist timber products.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and target-driven.
- Ability to operate both independently and collaboratively across a multi-site business.
