Premier Forest Products Appoints Softwoods Director

Leading Independent timber importer Premier Forest Products has appointed Paul Ford as its Softwoods Director. Paul's position will be fundamental to Premier building and widening its Softwoods offering, which in turn is vital to Premier's aggressive growth strategy. Premier expect to increase market penetration in the UK and reach a target turnover of £80 million by 2010.

Paul brings a wealth of experience to Premier, having worked within the timber industry for nearly four decades. He began his career with May & Hassell as a trainee timber importer and has climbed the ranks of the trade to hold Directorial positions with several industry heavyweights. In 1988, Paul joined Malvern Timber Merchants and Builders, and left as MD there to establish Premier Timber & Builders Merchants. Now back on the importing side of the timber business, Paul intends to replicate the success he has achieved on the merchants side thanks to his greater insight of this sector's business needs.

Nigel Williams, Chairman and a Director at Premier Forest Products, is delighted that Paul has taken up the offer of coming back to the import side of the business:

“Premier Forest Products is rapidly expanding, and we have great ambitions for the business in the next five to ten years. Appointing a Softwoods Director of Paul Ford's calibre will ensure that our vision for the future becomes a business reality, as he has the industry experience and understanding of our client-base to help grow the company in the short and long-term.”
