About Us

Premier Forest Products is one of the UK's leading independent importers and distributors of Timber and Panel Products. Whether it's supplying commodity products for merchants' stock, or complex bespoke solutions to manufacturers needs, Premier excels.

At Premier, our aim is to exceed our customers' expectations. We recognise that our tremendous growth and excellent reputation comes from the dedicated commitment of our staff, both to Premier and to our customers. To maintain this award winning formula, all Premier's staff are of the highest calibre and experience levels, and have come from all quarters of our industry.

Premier was established in 1993, when founding directors Dilwyn Howells,
Nigel Williams and Terry Edgell, recognised there was a need for an independent importer of timber and timber-based products based in Wales. The company has enjoyed phenomenal growth since its inception and continues to expand.

Through our head office and quay-side facilities in Newport and distribution and sales offices in Birmingham, Premier has long been seen as one of the UK's fastest growing importers. With availability and range enhanced further by numerous stock holdings at strategic port locations across the country, we provide efficient national distribution. This service, and our quality and professionalism, have twice seen us crowned UK Panel Trader of the Year. Our team of Directors has also won the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award (Business Products & Services category).

At Premier, we also recognise the role we have in influencing our suppliers across the globe to see the value and necessity of improved sustainability and management of natural forest resources.

We are FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) Chain of Custody certified. In addition we are PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes) Chain of Custody certified and BM TRADA Forest products certified.

We are committed to the proper environmental management of one of the world's only truly renewable resources, timber.

Anti-slavery and human trafficking policy

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person's liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains.
